AMQP: routing, not streaming

AMQP (Advanced Message Queuing Protocol) takes a different approach than Kafka. Where Kafka is a durable log you replay, AMQP brokers like RabbitMQ are smart routing intermediaries: messages flow through exchanges that route them to queues based on binding rules, then workers consume and acknowledge them.

This makes RabbitMQ ideal for task queues, RPC patterns, and complex routing — and less suited to event replay or high-throughput streaming.
