AWS Transit Gateway: Hub-and-Spoke VPC Connectivity

VPC peering doesn't scale

AWS VPC peering connects two VPCs — but it's not transitive. 10 VPCs needing full connectivity requires 45 individual peering connections, each manually configured with separate route table entries. At 100 VPCs: 4,950 connections.

AWS Transit Gateway is a regional network hub. Each VPC or on-premises network attaches once, and the TGW handles routing between all attachments — O(N) connections instead of O(N²).
