The WebSocket scaling problem

A WebSocket connection is a persistent, stateful TCP connection to a specific server. If you run 3 WebSocket servers behind a load balancer, Client 1 might connect to Server 1 and Client 2 to Server 2.

When Client 1 sends a message, Server 1 has no way to reach Client 2 on Server 2. They're isolated islands.
