WiFi 6: designed for dense, mixed environments

WiFi 5 (802.11ac) was optimized for single-client peak throughput. WiFi 6 (802.11ax) targets dense environments — stadiums, offices, apartment buildings — where many devices compete.

Key innovations: OFDMA (serve multiple clients per transmission), BSS coloring (coexist with neighbors), and TWT (battery efficiency for IoT).
